Dunlaoghaire Outdoor Exhibition
This is my 3rd summer exhibiting out in Dunlaoghaire. I am one of the artist that exhibit on the veranda oppostite the Lexicon Library beside the habour. It has been such a wonderful experiance for me and I have learned so much from taking part. Its definitely has is challenges what with the Irish weather which can change in a blink of an eye, being prepared for that is a skill Ive learned.
The exhibition in hung on the rails and we all bring our work to sell and also to mix with the passersby and our fellow artists. As you can imagine been alone in your studio is isolating and getting the chance to chat is lovely.
I have made great friends here and they have given me confidance and encouragement. I love to meet the public who pass by and look at my work. The people who have bought my work here have been so important to me and my continuing path as a working artist. I am very grateful.
I exhibit here twice a month most times weather permitting. On a Sunday theres a food market which is amazing and this brings a good crowd. The artist are tucked away on the veranda and sometimes can get over looked. We are trying to make ourselves more visable with new signs. Hope to have a good few more good weather days thsi summer. I am looking forward to meeting more people and selling my work.
I have learnt from my outdoor exhibits the main thing is to enjoy the experiance and engaging with the public.
Hope the sun shines and I get to met you there. Keep an eye on my Instagram to see my next ehibiting Sunday.
